How important was Hitler compared to the depression in the Nazis coming to power in 1933?

The story of why Hitler came to power is about the reasons why the German people lost their senses and allowed a vicious madman to come to power. Hitler’s rise to power was based upon long term factors, resentment in the German people, and the weakness of the Weimar system- which he exploited through propaganda, the terror of his storm troopers and the brilliance of his speeches. In this essay I’m going to be looking at and answering the question of ‘how important was Hitler compared to the depression in the Nazis coming to power in 1933?’
Hitler's rise to power cannot be attributed to one event, but a mixture of factors including events happening outside Germany, the strengths of the Nazi party, and the weaknesses of other parties within Germany. Hitler used these factors to his advantage and in 1933 he legitimately gained power to become chancellor
The economic depression started in 1923 when Germany went through hyperflation. Many people struggled to make a living as prices were rising so quickly. Shortly after Hyperinflation in 1929 Wall Street in America crashed. This did not help Germany’s situation and once again many people struggled to survive with very little money. The people of Germany wanted a leader to help them and get them out of the devastation caused and unfortunately they backed Hitler. The economic depression was the most important reason why Hitler became chancellor because the people of Germany were desperate for a new leader to save them from complete economic collapse. Six million people were left unemployed due to the Wall Street crash. These people were looking for someone who could regain control and get them back into jobs where they could earn enough money to live off. In January 1933 Hitler became chancellor but only because he had agreed with Von Papen that he would share the duties of being chancellor. However, he failed to keep his promise...
