BECOMING MRS. RIGHT
When a group of Christian women were asked to describe the single life in a few words, one lady responded by saying – ‘it is liberating because you are able to do what you want to do. But it can also be lonely because you long for someone to share that day to day contact with.’ She went on to say that ‘it’s a flight to maintain a standard to strive to live a saved, single life according to the word of God.’ She also stated that many of her friends and family encourage her to go out to clubs and bars. She said, I don’t want a man in the clubs, so I don’t go there. She has standards that are not negotiable. Her friends and family tells her that her list has to become negotiable.
Another young lady wrote that the single life is a good thing. It is a season in her life where God is working on her and making her whole. She stated that before Mr. Right comes along, God is working out some kinks so Mr. Right won’t leave. God doesn’t want us to need anybody but HIM to make us whole. To my wife, I need to be a compliment, a help mate, not a completion or a need.
As a single woman, your life as a Christian ought to be complete right now. And anybody God sends your way ought to be a compliment. For whatever God is doing in your life, Mr. Right is the added bonus to the already blessed life.
Another woman stated that the single life is refreshing, beautiful and awesome. She thanked God for the single life. She also stated that she was waiting on God to bless her with Mr. Right. But until then, she will keep interviewing.
Finally, someone wrote that the reality of being single was the hardest when her mother died, because of her family and friends were no longer surrounding her. She stated that she cried and hurt alone at night and bore the blunt of the grief alone. Not having anyone to lean on whereas her brother was able to be comforted by his wife.
