After taken the Learning Style and Personality Style test, my results were not a big surprise to me. My results tell me that I learn best when information is presented visually and in a picture or design format. I have found that I do learn better from examples, I could read something over and over and not understand it fully, but once I have been given an example, I can more than likely understand it.
The results do work to my advantage in my occupation as a Human Resources Representative, as I have to deal with many different personalities and sometimes it can be a challenge, but I have learned to modify my behavior when dealing with different personalities to make people feel comfortable talking to me.
I would like the results to go a bit deeper, maybe help me with ways that I can work with other types of personalities and how others can work with mine. I found my personality type doing these but not ways to help me work with others.
I truly believe there are strengthens to these test and that there is also weaknesses. I have found when I administer these test that people don’t always appreciate the test. The strengths are to help you see who you are and to help you recognize yourself. The weaknesses could be that every test is different and you could possibly get different results. You could take this test in a noisy area and not fully pay attention and rush, so the results might not necessarily be accurate. I have had folks take the test a number of times and still end up with the same results, so then they say “maybe that is me”.
So, with the results above if everyone can come to understand that all humans are different and learn in different ways in life it might make things a bit clearer. I believe if you find someone in your job, school or work that you are having difficulty with you could use this as a lesson to figure out why and to realize that you may not agree with everything they say and do, but that there is a reason for why they think and do...
