The biggest debate Nature v.s Nurture in Psychology still has not quiet been settled yet. Nature being what you are “born” with and Nurture being the surroundings that have influenced your personality and behavior. These two ideas have both molded me into the person I have become. In my nature of course its my physical appearance: the curly hair, dark eyes, height, skin color, etc. Yet in my nature I would still consider having the personality of both of my parents which would mean is in my genes. I have my mother’s timid/quiet spirit that cares and loves more than she is capable of. Along with my father’s strong character that does not let anyone get in the way of what they are doing, very stubborn, and funny. I am all these things in one. I have a very independent spirit that I cannot let anyone distract me from, very loving, caring, loyal, perfectionist, and my personality being melancholy and sanguine I carry both my parent genes. I have a very analytical mind that cannot stop thinking which I also believe is in my genes. Now how Nurture plays a part in my life would be in all that I have surrounded myself in. I speak Spanish because I grew up in a Spanish speaking home. My religious background is Christian Protestant which completely defines me. This is what I grew up knowing and have centered my life around. My sense of humor also reflects the people I associate myself with. All these things play a factor into the person I have become today.
