Not all organizations or companies use the same decision-making processes. Although the processes may not be the same, they may use similar techniques depending on the situation in which they need to make a decision. It is important that each company or organization use a process that best works for them, instead of one that they think may work because another company is using it. Each team member has taken the process used at their work place and look at how it compares to the other team members.

The decision-making processes that I was able to investigate and observe was an organization that my friend Sherrie works for. The organization is Providence Medical Center. Sherrie works in the radiology department. The decision-making depends on how big the decisions that needs to be made are. One type of decision might be in the area of mammography. Sherrie is responsible for history sheets, it is a data collection tool but they are female specific and when there are male patients the male may feel awkward because of the way that the question ask more along the lines of female things such as her period or giving birth. Therefore, Sherrie needed to figure out how to get around the awkwardness for the male. So rather than giving the questioner to the patient they now take the patient’s back to a room to interview them which actually had another positive affect which was that is speed up the processing of the patients. Depending on what the decision that needs to be made is, is also dependent on whom it is going to effect. Will it have any bearing on the department itself or will the decision go outside of the radiology. When comparing and contrasting my portion of the paper to my teammates, I can see from Sherryl’s response that a comparison between my friends place and her place on how they both deal with their customers.
