Define the Business Research and Purpose
The concept of the simulation was to see how well an individual could use the problem solving tools and techniques to solve problems and make decisions. A methodical approach was used to make decisions, framing solutions to identify the problem and alternative solutions. In addition, evaluate the reasoning behind each solution or assumptions within framing the problem.
Solving problems, decision-making, methodical thinking, and frame solutions with alternate solutions differ from one another. Solving problems is a technique; managers use this type of technique to examine the problem and to find a solution. Methodical thinking is a technique, and is use to explain ideals, or complex situations. Frame solutions, is framing the problem, identifying the problem, defining criteria, goals, objectives and evaluate effect of the problems. In addition, an alternative solution is problem solving, used in solving problems and decision-making. The tools and techniques used in the simulation do not differ from the ones Shirley would have chosen during the simulation. Every tool and technique used was applied during the simulation.
