I think that the Study was conducted to test the researchers hypothesis on if higher level of trust in authorities compared to a lower level of trust leads to a higher level of unintended tax compliances. As well as examining the research questions that members of authority ask about enforced tax compliance. Also if people are more likely to obey tax laws if governments used of voluntary tax compliance or enforced tax compliance. I think that the researcher wished to examine the validity of the assumptions about the slippery slope framework for Canada as well as other countries.
The process in which I participated included filling out a sign in sheet, signing a waver, reading a story and answering questions on a scale of 1-10. I think that beginning of the process was to inform the participant of what the study entailed. I think that the questioning process of the survey was designed to make the participant really think about their answers by using a scale of 1-10 as opposed to the standard yes or no answer. Everything in the study was explained very well.
I found the study very organized and straightforward. There were no issues related to my understanding about what was being tested. My only complaint would be that once finished we were not allowed to leave because the papers were not all handed out at the same time so people would not be able to finish at the same time. There were no components of the study that I found difficult to complete, the researcher was respectful and informative.
